There are many excellent organizations doing good around the world, promoting global wellness. Some of these organizations are:

The Konfidence Foundation
"We believe in all kids, from Africa to Atlanta. It's our mission to go past helping them, to empowering them. Everyone should grow up knowing anything is possible." – Akon, founder

The Konfidence Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of the conditions in Africa and providing underprivileged youth with access to learning and recreational environments equipped with modern technology, educational materials, recreational resources, and health and wellness services. In Atlanta, the Konfidence Foundation has Annual Thanksgiving Giveaways and Christmas Toy Giveways.

Chance Afrika
Chance Afrika is an international nonprofit organization based in Georgia, USA that seeks to help and support in the development of children and local communities through a unique combination of Sports, Health, and Educational Programs.

"TAMING THE NILE is our signature malaria awareness program that seeks to raise funds to buy chemically treated mosquito nets. In the last 2 years we have impacted over 2,500 mums and kids in Africa by giving each one a mosquito net. Sleeping under a treated mosquito net can reduce the incidence of malaria by up to 90%. We are saving lives and call upon you all to join hands with us on this great and noble project."

– Eric Mwangi, Chance Afrika

Doctors Without Borders
Doctors Without Borders, or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

Today, MSF provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need. MSF reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected crises, to challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system, and to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocols.

In 1999, MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize.

Save the Children
Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. They work with other organizations, governments, non-profits and a variety of local partners while maintaining their own independence without political agenda or religious orientation.

When disaster strikes around the world, Save the Children is there to save lives with food, medical care and education and remains to help communities rebuild through long-term recovery programs. As quickly and as effectively as Save the Children responds to tsunamis and civil conflict, it works to resolve the ongoing struggles children face every day — poverty, hunger, illiteracy and disease — and replaces them with hope for the future.

Words from Doug Brooks, Winner of Taming the Nile 10k

"I signed up for the [Taming of the Nile] race because I have had first hand experience being exposed to mosquitoes that carry the Malaria virus in my travels for work as a pilot to Africa. The purpose of the race was to raise money for malaria prevention and awareness with the goal to buy mosquito nets for people that live in high risk areas. It was great to run for such a great cause.

"I also want to thank the Aligned Balance Center for donating a massage to the winners of both the 5K and 10K race. I had a very relaxing and educational massage therapy session with Dr. Helle Vander Yacht, who impressed me with her knowledge of the human body. Thank you Chance Afrika and Aligned Balance Center!"
